Biggest Week. (Late Blog)
This week has been amazing in every possible way!
Last year, I applied for the Nickelodeon Creative Summit in where out of thousands of appliants they pick 60 participants to go to two classes given by two Nickelodeon executives and they evaluate those participants for a chance to win the Nick Fellowship Program and go in a paid internship to the Nickelodeon LA studio for one year.
I was crushed when I didn't get it. But it was kind of obvious because I did my written audition last minute.
This year, around March, I got the chance to audition again for a spot in Summit! The deadline for turning in the audition was pushed back right when I turned it in and I lost track of time (and hope) so I forgot the date in where they were going to announce the lucky winners! On Monday, I received an e-mail that said this: "Congratulations, you have been selected to participate in the Creative Summit with Nickelodeon 2010!"
I got it! That news was amazing! I cannot stop smiling from ear to ear!
Today, I went to the Scene 51 offices to pick up my materials for the Summit and complete my matriculating process, and I learned that this Summit costs $550.00 (I get it for free) and that 1,300 people did the audition! Out of 1,300 people they only picked 60 and I'M THERE! Is this not amazing? This is awesome! I am in cloud nine!
This is a big milestone in my career as a writer! It is awesome for me as a writer to get this type of opportunities!
2010 has been the year in where all my dreams are coming true! As an actress, I'm getting more and more auditions (I went to an audition on Tuesday for HBO), as a singer, I'm getting to sing and put my voice out there through videos and MySpace (I auditioned for Glee), and as a writer, songwriter and lyricist, because I'm getting such a big opportunity with this Summit and because I feel so good right after I write that I don't ever want to stop writing ever again! It makes me feel like I can tell my story and make other people identify with what I write, either is a song or a story!!!
I'm getting more and more hopeful everyday and I know that my career will reach it best really soon! (Another thing, my mom told my sister the other day: "Alejandra's an actress..." huge milestone!)
I can't stop smiling!
